For the new temporary exhibition of the Halle aux Sucres in Dunkirk (15 oct. 2016 – 17 sept. 2017), I’ve composed 4 pieces broadcast through out the exhibition.
Exploring 4 major themes (Metropolis, Megapolis, Cyberpolis and Ecopolis), the exhibition takles utopias and imaginary cities.
The compositions are build with the same concrete sonic materials, and some more abstract and musical elements are added to characterize each theme. The listener can then dive into the sonic landscapes.
The exhibition set up is made of cardboard, and has been designed by Millimètre. The graphics are from Formes Vives. The sound is broadcast with audio exciters attached to the cardboard surfaces, making the sound very immersive.
