Visual creation for the exhibition Ophone and Virtual Coffee at Le Laboratoire – Paris.
The installation was made of 4 screens on which real time generated animations (using processing.org) were showed. The animations were triggered by the visitors when they opened a small vial. Each animations was associated with a major fragrance of coffee (vanilla, jasmin, cocoa and burnt wood).
The detection of the opening of a vial was made thanks to a photoresistor. An Arduino board interfaced the photoresistor with the taylor made processing program on a computer.
Evolution of the animation over time:
Once the vial closed, the screen would gradually go back to black.
